FK-05 CASE NOTES
Technician working at the FurbKit studio bench

NOTE FK-05.1 — YELLOWING ISN'T DIRT

Why we deoxidize instead of scrub

Yellowed soles are oxidized rubber, not grime. Scrubbing abrades the surface; our deoxidation bath reverses the chemistry. Same shoe, no material lost.

NOTE FK-05.2 — SUEDE NEEDS A NAP

Revival means raising the fibers

Flat, shiny suede isn't dirty — it's compressed. Steam, brass brush, and patience bring the nap back. We document pile direction before and after every revival.

NOTE FK-05.3 — MACHINES EAT SHOES

Every pair is cleaned by hand

Washing machines delaminate glue, warp toe boxes, and shred mesh. Our bench time is longer — that's the point. Your pair gets a protocol, not a spin cycle.
